Power cable loom
The least interesting part in the machine and the one most likely to actually start a fire.
What it does
Each hashboard takes multiple 6 pin PCIe connectors, and the full loom is carrying on the order of 300 amps at 12 V. That is a lot of current through a small contact area, and contact resistance is where the trouble lives. A connector that is not fully seated has a slightly higher resistance, which makes it slightly hotter, which oxidises the contact, which raises the resistance further.
That feedback loop is why melted PCIe connectors are the signature failure of home mining setups. It is not usually the cable that fails, it is the last two millimetres of the connector.
Miners torque these properly, use the loom that came with the supply rather than adapters, and check them by hand temperature after the first hour. Adapters and daisy chains are how people lose machines.
